About the event
In the face of extreme weather disasters, urgent messages from climate scientists and foot-dragging by our leaders, the youth of the world spoke loudly on March 15: “Please give us a future we can live in!”
The good news is the outlines of a sustainable future are coming into view. New visions of what is possible are being translated into reality. This is the subject of the award-winning documentary “Tomorrow.” The film takes us to Detroit, San Francisco, and other countries to see innovative ways of growing food sustainably in the country, towns or decaying cities. It shows us new ways of harnessing the earth’s energy. It takes us to a school with a beautifully different approach to education. It takes us inside a sustainable business that makes money without trying to make money. It shows us how local currencies can work. The film has given a real boost to new community-led projects and has often received standing ovations. It opens our minds to what is possible, helps us think outside the narrow box of our mass culture, and inspires us to begin creating the future we wish to see.
